Attentrol is used for treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Atomoxetine Hydrochloride is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Attentrol should be used as a part of a total treatment program for ADHD that may include counseling or other therapies. The active ingredient present in Attentrol is Atomoxetine Hydrochloride.

The recommended starting dose of Attentrol for adults as well as children and adolescents over 70 kg is 40 mg once a day. It will take a minimum period of a week for the full therapeutic effects of Atomoxetine to be felt. Attentrol have to be taken for at least six to eight weeks before deciding whether it is effective or not.

Take Attentrol  exactly as prescribed. This medicine comes in different dose strengths. Your doctor may adjust the dose until it is right for you or your child. Do not chew, crush, or open the capsules. Swallow Attentrol whole with water or other liquids. Tell your doctor if you or your child cannot swallow this medicine whole.

The common possible side effects of Attentrol include dry mouth, tiredness, irritability, nausea, decreased appetite, constipation, dizziness, sweating, dysuria, sexual problems, decreased libido, urinary retention or hesitancy, increased obsessive behavior, weight changes, palpitations, increases in heart rate and blood pressure.

Get emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
